Winter by the Coast
The shift into winter brings a quieter rhythm to life at Vista. Cooler mornings, softer light and the steady sound of the ocean make this one of the most rewarding times of year to live by the coast.
It is a season for slowing down, layering up and making the most of long Sunday lunches, brisk walks along the foreshore and the simple comforts that come with being close to home.
Here is what is happening across Vista, and a few ideas to make the most of winter close to home as we head into July.
Estate Updates
Construction is ramping up across Vista Stage 6, with crews on site and several stages reaching important milestones this winter. The next few months will see the estate take a noticeable step forward.
Construction works are now complete, with titles anticipated to issue towards the end of June. Future residents will soon be in a position to settle and begin their home build journey.
Titles are tracking towards mid-year, with settlements set to follow shortly after, marking another step forward for the community.
With bulk earthworks now complete, attention turns to the next phase of civil works across both stages.

A Karnup to Coast Sunday
There is no shortage of ways to spend a winter Sunday from Vista, but few feel as easy or as local as a wine, lunch and foreshore loop. Three stops, one short drive and a slow afternoon to finish the week.
Peel Estate Wines, Karnup
Start the morning at the oldest winery in the Peel region, just a short drive from home. The cellar door is open daily from 10am to 5pm with tastings across their classic shiraz, chenin blanc and zinfandel.
Lunch at Birdie, Port Kennedy
From Karnup, head to Birdie Restaurant for a long lunch. The seasonal menu leans on local produce, with the pork belly and crab linguini earning regular praise. Bookings recommended on weekends.
The Mandurah foreshore
Finish at the eastern foreshore, rugged up for a slow walk along the boardwalk before the sun drops. Calm, almost cinematic in winter, a fitting reminder of why this part of the coast is worth coming home to.
What's On
There is plenty happening across Mandurah and the wider Peel region this June, including the launch of one of the city's biggest events of the year.
Winter in Mandurah
Throughout winter | Eastern and Western Foreshores. The City of Mandurah's flagship festival returns with live music, fire performances, ice skating and family events. Winter Wonderland and the much-loved ice rink return to the eastern foreshore from July, with plenty to enjoy across June in the lead-up. Full program at mandurah.wa.gov.au.
Mandurah Library Winter Programs
Throughout June | Mandurah Library. A steady program of community sessions runs through winter, from story time for young readers to book clubs, craft mornings and tech help. A warm, free way to fill an afternoon. Current calendar at mandurah.wa.gov.au.
Looking After Your Home This Winter
Winter on the coast brings its own set of considerations. Salt air, sea spray and wet weather can take their toll over time, so a few simple checks now can save trouble later.
Around the outside:
- Rinse exterior windows, frames and door hardware to clear salt residue
- Check seals around windows and doors for gaps that let in cold air or moisture
- Clear gutters and downpipes before the heavier rain settles in
- Inspect garden taps, hoses and outdoor fittings for early signs of corrosion
- Wash down rendered walls in exposed positions to prevent salt build-up
Inside:
- Service heating systems before peak use
- Test smoke alarms while you are already on the ladder
- Look for any signs of dampness around skylights and roof penetrations
A short Saturday morning is usually enough to work through the list, and it is well worth the peace of mind once the rain sets in.
Spotlight: Mandjar Markets
The Mandjar Markets are one of Mandurah's most-loved Sunday traditions, set under the trees along the eastern foreshore with the Peel Inlet as a backdrop. Local artisans, food vendors, photographers and musicians come together each week through the warmer months for a relaxed morning of browsing and catching up.
The markets pause for a winter break from June through to September, returning in October when the weather warms again. It is a good time to follow them on social media for early announcements about the next season, and to make a mental note for spring Sundays ahead.
In the meantime, the eastern foreshore is still a beautiful spot to wander through, particularly on a clear winter morning with a takeaway coffee in hand.
As winter settles in across the coast, Vista continues to offer a balanced lifestyle shaped by sea breezes, open space and a strong sense of community. We look forward to sharing more updates with you in the months ahead.
